Hello, my name is Tom Tedeschi. I am a Democrat candidate for the vacancy of Franklin County Resident Circuit Judge. I am a lifelong resident of Franklin County. My wife, Lori Ann, and I live between West Frankfort and Benton with our four children, Dominick, 12, Sesley Ann, 4, Ensley Joeh, 3, and Docker, 9 months. I am asking for your vote and your support in the election on February 5, 2008. I am the son of the late John and Gayla Tedeschi of rural West Frankfort. I have one brother, Tony Tedeschi, formerly of West Frankfort. I have always had an interest in public service. My parents stressed the importance of giving back to others through public service. They also instilled values in me such as hard work, honesty, and service to others in the community. I have been active in the community since the age of 9 when my Father was elected to the Franklin County Board as a Democrat in 1976. I was also active in the West Frankfort Area Young Democrat Club. I was elected as a Democrat Precinct Committeeman for Frankfort #1 in 1998 and served until 2004. I have served as the 3rd Vice-Chairman of the Franklin County Democrat Party and also was elected Alderman for Ward 2 in Orient. I graduated from Frankfort Community High School in 1985, John A. Logan College, SIU-Carbondale, and SIU-C School of Law. I have dedicated my career to the service of others. I have served as a probation officer, a police officer for the cities of Zeigler, Sesser, Christopher, and West Frankfort, Deputy Sheriff for Franklin County, State’s Attorney Investigator, and currently as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Franklin County. As many attorneys have chosen to practice in the private sector in order to achieve financial rewards, I elected to work for the citizens of Franklin County. For the past 16 years, I have chosen to serve others. I have gained unique experience and insight into the situations of people through this service. This experience makes me well qualified to serve as your Judge. I have found the work that I have done to be extremely rewarding. I believe that it is essential to stand up for those who are unable to stand up for their rights in life. A court case is nothing more than a problem between persons, legally referred to as parties. Although they are called parties, they are people. The citizens of Franklin County not only deserve, but are entitled to, a Judge who can understand their situation, will listen to their concerns, and will fairly and honestly apply the law to each individual’s problem with respect. I understand that when a person comes to the Franklin County Circuit Court it is extremely stressful. Many attorneys and judges seem to lose sight of this fact and are not aware of the stress and confusion that one may have in this situation. A judge must never forget that he or she is serving in that capacity due to the privilege of having been elected by the voters in Franklin County. If given this opportunity, you have my word that as Resident Circuit Judge, I will treat each case as a problem between people and will fairly and honestly apply the law to the problem. I will also treat everyone with the respect that they deserve. I want to serve the citizens of Franklin County as Resident Circuit Judge. I promise to work as hard as I possibly can as your Judge, just as I have done previously in other positions. I am asking for your vote on February 5, 2008 and I look forward to serving you as the Resident Circuit Judge of Franklin County for many years. This page has been visited
